Tim Lepp to draft procedures for new team’s entry into the CIHL
January 2005

With the recent expansion of the CIHL there has been a growing need to develop a step-by-step set of procedures that perspective teams will have to follow if they want into the CIHL. Tim Lepp, Terrace River Kings General Manager, will be spearheading an initiative to draft these set of procedures.

Over the past few year teams such as the Houston Luckies, Kitimat Ice Demons, Smithers Steelheads and most recently Terrace River Kings and 100 Mile House Bears have had to feel their way through the process of entry into the league. Lepp, states “these procedures will allow new teams to understand what it takes to become part of the CIHL”. While most of these procedures will deal with the administrative side of entry into the league there are unwritten rules that every team follows that we want to inform new teams of. Tim adds “we want the process to be streamlined so that we are able to attract more teams to the CIHL”.

The step-by-step procedures will include milestone dates that will assist the League Executive during the approval phase of accepting a new team into the league.

Tim will be working with other General Managers from the CIHL and the League Executive to develop the draft procedures. The intent is that these procedures will be presented and approved at the 2005 CIHL Annual General Meeting.
