Burns Lake Braves

The Braves played their inaugural season in the CIHL in 1999-2000. The league was comprised of only five teams that year and since has under gone a growth in numbers and in popularity. The fans in Burns Lake were very excited at the thought of senior hockey being played in Burns Lake for the first time in over fifteen years. They came out to support the Braves and haven't stopped to this day. Although the season was a learning experience for the Braves, with some ups and downs along the way, they made it out of the first round of the playoffs only to be beaten in the following round.

In the years to come the Braves would become a perennial contender and a solid CIHL club. They haven't failed to qualify for the post-season since inception; they won the Max Cup in 2002, and competed for the Coy Cup in 2004. Consistently bolstering a speedy team they are always a threat and with the added jump they have playing in front of the best crowd in the league, taking a win out of Burns Lake is never easy.

The Braves are naturally hoping that their best accomplishments are yet to come. As the league continues to grow, the competition gets more intense and rivalries only get stronger. This is an exciting league for the players and for the fans, thanks to Burns Lake and all the communities in the league for allowing us to compete.
